Fried Buffalo Chicken Wontons

What You Need

  • 5 slices Sara Lee® Lower Sodium Oven Roasted Chicken Breast; finely minced.
  • 12 Wonton wrappers.
  • 2⅔ tbsp blue cheese; finely minced.
  • 2⅔ tbsp carrots; finely minced.
  • 2⅔ tbsp celery; finely minced.
  • 1⅓ tbsp buffalo wing hot sauce.
  • 1 egg; beaten.
  • ¼ cup cornstarch.
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour.
  • Peanut oil.
  • Blue cheese dressing.
  • Carrot and celery sticks.

How to Make It

  1. Combine chicken, blue cheese, carrots, celery and buffalo sauce in a small bowl.
  2. Place 2 tsp of mixture in center of wonton wrapper.
  3. Brush edges with egg, fold over to form a triangle and press edges together to seal.
  4. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  5. In a small bowl combine flour and cornstarch.
  6. Dust each wonton lightly with flour-cornstarch mixture.
  7. Heat oil to 375 degrees.
  8. Oil should be deep enough to completely submerge wontons when frying.
  9. Add a few wontons at a time to oil—be sure oil temperature doesn’t drop.
  10. Fry until golden brown, approximately 1-2 minutes.
  11. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined dish.
  12. Transfer to tray and serve with blue cheese dressing while still hot.
  13. Garnish with carrot and celery sticks.
