Green Peas and Ham

What You Need

  • 1 cup Sara Lee® Honey Ham; cut thick and diced.
  • 2 cups cooked fusilli pasta.
  • ¼ cup yellow onion; diced.
  • ¾ tsp garlic; minced.
  • 1 cup half & half.
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese; freshly grated.
  • ½ cup frozen peas; thawed.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil.
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter.
  • 2 tbsp reserved pasta water.
  • To taste Red pepper flakes (optional).

How to Make It

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onions and sauté for 3-5 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add garlic and sauté another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add peas and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add ham and cook for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Pour half & half into skillet and simmer for 7-10 minutes until it reduces and thickens.  If sauce is too thick, thin with reserved pasta water.
  7. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  8. Stir in butter.
  9. Add parmesan and pasta to skillet and toss to coat.
  10. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired.
