Ham-Stuffed Challah Bread FRENCH TOAST

- day-old challah bread, sliced 3/4-inch thick
- 3 slices
- baby swiss cheese
- 3
- eggs
- 3/4 cup
- whole milk
- 1/4 tsp.
- salt
- 1/2 tsp.
- vanilla extract
- 1/4 tbsp.
- honey
- 1/2 tsp.
- raspberry preserves
- 1/2 tbsp.
- butter
- 1/2 tbsp.
- grape seed or vegetable oil
- powdered sugar, to taste

How to Make It
- STEP 1
- Beat eggs, milk, vanilla extract, salt and honey together in a medium bowl.
- STEP 2
- Dip bread slices in egg mixture and submerge until bread is covered.
- STEP 3
- Heat butter and oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- STEP 4
- Cook bread for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- STEP 5
- Assemble sandwich quickly; spread raspberry preserves on one slice of bread.
- STEP 6
- Top with cheese, ham and remaining slice of bread.
- STEP 7
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with powdered sugar to taste.
- STEP 8
- Place in warm oven until cheese melts.
