Ham-Stuffed Challah Bread FRENCH TOAST

What you Need

5 slices
Sara LeeĀ® Maple Honey Ham
2 slices
day-old challah bread, sliced 3/4-inch thick
3 slices
baby swiss cheese
3
eggs
3/4 cup
whole milk
1/4 tsp.
salt
1/2 tsp.
vanilla extract
1/4 tbsp.
honey
1/2 tsp.
raspberry preserves
1/2 tbsp.
butter
1/2 tbsp.
grape seed or vegetable oil
powdered sugar, to taste

How to Make It

STEP 1
Beat eggs, milk, vanilla extract, salt and honey together in a medium bowl.
STEP 2
Dip bread slices in egg mixture and submerge until bread is covered.
STEP 3
Heat butter and oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
STEP 4
Cook bread for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
STEP 5
Assemble sandwich quickly; spread raspberry preserves on one slice of bread.
STEP 6
Top with cheese, ham and remaining slice of bread.
STEP 7
Remove from heat and sprinkle with powdered sugar to taste.
STEP 8
Place in warm oven until cheese melts.
